System Administration• Responsible for the day-to-day administration of around 280 Windows and Linux servers distributed across data centres located within Australia and Azure• Implementation, upgrades and administration of core systems, including; a Citrix XenApp farm consisting of 70 servers, a 16-node load-balanced VMWare cluster, and an Exchange HA cluster• Management of both on-prem and cloud servers; including problem determination, resource monitoring, Operating System and Application patching, server upgrades and migrations, future planning and disaster recoverySQL Administration• Administration of multiple SQL Instances (SQL 2000 - 2019); including planning, installation, patching, upgrades, disaster recovery, high availability and monitoring• Optimization of existing Windows and SQL instances, which resulted in a significant increase in server stability and uptime• Designed and Implemented High Availability solutions; including a 4-node Multi-Site Failover Cluster, Always-On, Transactional Replication, and Database Mirroring• Performance tuning of queries, tables, and indexes for both the in-house developed CRM and Business Intelligence databases resulting in a significant reduction in query times• Creation of Stored Procedures, Functions, DML/DDL Triggers, Database/Server Audits, Table and Index Partitioning, and Resource Governor.• Built a number of complex ETL packages using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). As a member of the support desk; my role was to provide 1st and 2nd level desktop support to approximately 700 staff, and external clients located throughout Australia and New Zealand.• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document user incidents and problems in accordance with ITIL framework and SLAs• Worked closely with fellow members of the support desk, infrastructure and programming teams to resolve problems and incidents• Increased team productivity by automating repetitive tasks by using scripting such as; Batch, PowerShell, VBScript and WMI• Provisioned new and replacement equipment; including WYSE thin clients, desktop PC’s, laptops and mobile devices• Travel to remote sites within Australia and New Zealand to perform office relocations and equipment audits.
