In my current role as the Senior Intergovernmental Policy Manager for the City of Milwaukee, I lead the city's lobbying efforts at the state and federal levels for the Legislative Affairs Division. My work involves supporting the Milwaukee Common Council by drafting legislative documents and providing policy analysis to inform council decisions. This includes legal research and ensuring proposed legislation aligns with city policies and regulations.I also act as a liaison between the Common Council and other city departments, facilitating communication to ensure that legislative initiatives are effectively implemented. In this capacity, I monitor compliance with enacted legislation, ensuring city departments adhere to council directives.My responsibilities include representing the city's interests on issues such as transportation, public safety, and fiscal policy in state and federal discussions. This often requires preparing and delivering testimony, coordinating with external stakeholders, and engaging in public outreach to ensure transparency and public participation in the legislative process.In addition to these duties, I manage and oversee lobbying strategies to secure funding and legislative support for key city initiatives, such as infrastructure projects and public safety improvements. My role also involves tracking the progress of legislation and collaborating with council members and external partners to adapt strategies in real time based on shifting political landscapes.

In my role as Wisconsin State Director, I successfully developed and implemented comprehensive strategic plans and lobbying campaigns at federal, state, and local levels, resulting in significant policy advancements and increased national recognition for the American Federation for Children (AFC). These efforts contributed to greater fundraising success and solidified AFC's position as a leading advocate for school choice.Key achievements include securing over $400 million annually in state appropriations for K-12 education programs benefiting middle- to low-income children. I collaborated with coalition partners and policymakers to pass legislation that enhanced per-pupil funding, provided additional resources for special needs students, and expanded access to educational opportunities for tens of thousands of working-class families.I also built and maintained relationships with business and civic leaders, growing AFC's Wisconsin advocacy network from zero to 30,000 dedicated and active supporters. As the administrator of the state PAC, I oversaw multifaceted independent expenditure operations, successfully electing pro-education reform candidates and strengthening legislative support for school choice.Additionally, I developed and executed digital content and advocacy resources that positioned AFC Wisconsin as a model for political communication. I expanded bipartisan relationships and served as a key data and policy resource for legislators, authoring numerous articles and amendments to proposed legislation. During my time as the 1st District Alderperson and Council President for the City of Cudahy, I successfully exhibited strong critical thinking and public relations skills, securing multiple re-elections to public office. I earned the trust of my colleagues, resulting in my elevation to leadership positions on the City Council.I served as Chairman of the Finance Committee for six years, overseeing the city's multi-million-dollar budget and delivering consecutive surplus budgets. My efforts in fiscal management and participation in intergovernmental partnerships directly contributed to improving Cudahy's bond ratings from both Moody's and S&P.My role required learning and managing complex topics, such as urban planning, zoning, and city ordinances, to enhance the effectiveness of city operations.
