InternAccenture Mar 2014 - Jul 2014Dublin 2, IeDuring my master Information Science, I wrote my graduation thesis at Accenture. For four months I worked with the Infrastructure Security group of Accenture and conducted a literature review on the risk management of implementing Big Data solutions. Afterwards I held interviews with different clients on how they perceived those risks and how they mitigated them. From these interviews I created a recommendation on how Big Data-risks can be successfully mitigated. My findings included the lack of policy on how to asses risks and a general low Big Data solution maturity of Dutch organizations. New (European) regulations require well documented processes which are currently absent in most interviewed organizations. -

Teaching AssistantVrije Universiteit Amsterdam Feb 2012 - Jan 2013Amsterdam, NlDuring my bachelor I was active as student-assistant for several business related courses over the timespan of multiple years. As student-assistant my tasks included the grading of assignments and teaching practical sessions for first and second year university students.Pervasive ComputingThe course is based on the idea that in our modern society, computers become more widely used but also more ubiquitous. The 'always on' and 'always-available' nature of pervasive computing brings opportunities to several fields of business.During two successive years I was responsible for the guidance during the lab-sessions and grading the assignments of the students.Online Information Systems (OIS)The curriculum of OIS consisted of the construction of business processes from a fictional scenario and the modeling of these processes to different information systems. My activities for this course included teaching the workshops where the students gained more hands-on experience and together with the teaching team we prepared the course to better suit with students' expectations.Business Modelling and Requirements Engineering (BMRE)In this course, the students had to advise two fictional companies on a merger and argument what impact a merger would have on the business processes and IT infrastructure of the company. In this course the students learned the basics of consulting, interviewing techniques and reporting. For two years my task was to participate in the role-playing game as one of the stakeholders and supervise and grade several teams.
