As security consulting analyst I have provided consultative security services to help organizations protect their information, critical infrastructures, applications and key business processes against cyber threats.

For a little less than three years I owned and operated my own company. During this period I worked on several web-design projects and created an event management system aimed at sports clubs. Next to this I gave Social Media trainings and managed the online presence of an art gallery.

During my master Information Science, I wrote my graduation thesis at Accenture. For four months I worked with the Infrastructure Security group of Accenture and conducted a literature review on the risk management of implementing Big Data solutions. Afterwards I held interviews with different clients on how they perceived those risks and how they mitigated them. From these interviews I created a recommendation on how Big Data-risks can be successfully mitigated.My findings included the lack of policy on how to asses risks and a general low Big Data solution maturity of Dutch organizations. New (European) regulations require well documented processes which are currently absent in most interviewed organizations.

For a little bit more than a semester I was one of the Computer Science teachers at the Groene Hart Lyceum. This high school offers secondary education at HAVO and VWO level.
