Key contributions towards Tripadvisor's cloud initiative, including evaluation of multiple cloud vendors, negotiation of enterprise agreements, design of our cloud deployment, including a secure, hybrid-network design, as well as IaC driven, multi-user CI/CD pipeline for the review & deployment of cloud infrastructure. • Delivery of Infrastructure as Code & GitOps model. Organization has been spearheading the implementation & adoption of terraform cloud deployments. Also building out infrastructure with a GitOps mindset, to ensure repeatable, scalable infrastructure to simplify deployments and reduce time to delivery. • Renegotiation of vendor agreements. Made expanding our partnership with the newly formed purchasing division to review and renegotiate a number of our contracts, including DC providers, network & CDN vendors, and hardware providers. This resulted in significant yearly savings to our cash outlay.

Led the SmarterTravel Technical Operations team. Responsible for SmarterTravel's production footprint in both their on-premise data centers as well as within AWS Cloud environment. The team also provided support to engineering groups across the organization. Some notable projects kicked off by the team:AWS Cloud Migration - Migrated the majority of SmarterTravel's functions into AWS. This included driving automation & infrastructure as code methodologies throughout the organization. The framework and design SmarterTravel built would later be adopted by several other teams as Tripadvisor as a template for authentication, orchestration, and connectivity into hybrid cloud environments. Kubernetes Implementation - Team led the design, build, and operation of the k8s clusters running on AWS. As the majority of this was new to SmarterTravel, the team also worked across engineering to help support the containerization of legacy applications, provide training and guidance to engineering, and worked to ensure the continuity of current workflow and processes where possible.Network Redesign & Infrastructure Refresh - While ST was on a migration to the cloud, the legacy environment still needed support & upkeep. Supported a full refresh of our on-prem production environment, including a migration to a leaf & spine network architecture.

This included managing customer expectations and sentiment, implementing solutions in production networks and ensuring that all the appropriate resources were being utilized to get the customer fully operational.• Served as a subject matter expert and an escalation point for Cisco TAC on the Identity Service Engine, Network Access Control, and Anyconnect/ASA product lines. • Enhanced the quality of ISE and Anyconnect releases by supporting internal Alpha deployments of the products. This allowed the identification of defects before they became costly customer escalations. • Reduced the complexity and footprint of Cisco’s Unified Communication offering by leading the first virtualization effort on Cisco UCS-B series prototypes. Reduced an 8000 agent call center from roughly 70 physical servers across 3-4 racks to virtualized instances within a single rack.• Reduced incoming support requests by over 30% by standardizing lab operations and creating a centralized support model that encouraged knowledge sharing and end user empowerment.
