Thoughtworks Strategic Investments:Led TW Fintech Innovation Lab building and researching uses for blockchain technology. Developed distributed applications (dApps) using Solidity and the Ethereum platform. Canadian Financial Institution, Back-end systems:Created iOS tablet application to transition bank branches into paperless customer acquisition. Integrated new application with existing services following the strangler pattern. Introduced continuous delivery and testing principles to client developers. Used predominantly Java 8 & Spring.Multinational Financial Institution, Back-end systems:Created a new platform for the bank to launch a disruptive financial product in the US market. Founding member of the team that delivered this product in a mission and time critical environment. Drove the implementation of the Axon framework in Java 7 & Spring Boot to introduce a scalable, asynchronous, event-driven CQRS architecture to migrate from the bank’s existing platform. The resulting implementation allowed the bank to handle ten times the amount of transactions the existing architecture supported.Global Asset Management Company, Back-end systems:Built Java 8 & Spring application to allow investors to easily mail physical and/or electronic documents to our client to comply with new government regulations. Created an auditing and error management UI for bank employees to monitor document submission.Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Firmware, Front-end:Developed wireless router that was both secure and user-friendly. Wrote full-stack embedded software using Lua, Python, CSS3, HTML, Javascript, Handlebars.js, and JSON-RPC. Leveraged VirtualBox and Vagrant to test deployments to the physical router. Bolstered router security using modern protocols such as SSH key login, CSP Headers, and SSL Certificate generation.
