I then spent five years at Year Up building pathways to economic mobility for young adults, leading the Washington D.C. site to unprecedented growth in student outcomes. Yet witnessing persistent inequities fueled my desire to work upstream, which led me to Google.org.At Google.org, I pioneered the company's first racial justice giving portfolio, inspired by Bryan Stevenson's insight on the power of proximity. I directed $50M toward criminal justice reform, including landmark initiatives like the Equal Justice Initiative's Lynching in America project. As Director of the Americas, I managed $698M in grants over a decade, launching efforts like the $75M AI Opportunity Fund and workforce programs projected to generate $1B in wage gains for underserved communities.Throughout my career, I've seen the transformative power of nature as a force for personal renewal and community connection. This inspired me to co-found Outdoorithm, a public interest technology venture making camping in public parks more accessible, particularly for first generation campers. Our AI-powered platform simplifies trip and gear planning, while our nonprofit arm, Outdoorithm Collective, builds community for urban families through group camping experiences.I'm seeking my next leadership opportunity to scale solutions at the intersection of innovation and social impact.
