I am passionate about technology and its ability to reshape the world for the better. I am equally passionate about people and helping individuals and teams reach their full potential. While I was once fueled by the act of creation that is so exciting at the earliest stages of forming a startup, I am now fueled by helping others grow an idea into a high-performing, sustainable company that provides an environment where people can learn and grow while creating customer delight day after day. This is what drives me as an Investor and Board Member. I have experienced hyper-growth and failure across the three companies that I have started. While I have learned a great deal from both success and failure, the harder and more enduring lessons have come from the latter. I am happy to share these lessons with anyone who asks; I believe experience and perspective sharing is one of the greatest sources of learning.I hold myself and others to the highest bar; believe it’s critical to have intentionality around mission, vision, culture and values; am obsessed with focus, and am convinced that the best companies are built from the customer backwards. I believe a rich life is a journey of continuous self-improvement and two areas I continue to work on are: maintaining employee empathy and the “soft touch” during times of stress when my default is to obsessively focus on the task at hand and drive others as I drive myself; continuing to accelerate my decision-making speed, especially when there is limited information available (perfect truly is the enemy of good). Outside of work I am passionate about making all forms of art accessible to the general public and impacting the high levels of homelessness that are endured by more than 500,000 people in the US every year.
