I will never stop tinkering.My biggest professional achievement yet was being the sole maintainer of the Java development experience for Amazon and AWS between 2020 and 2023. Java powers the majority of Amazon products and services. I took a crazy ambiguous space, with decades of history and needs to support the bleeding edge, and got it under control enough that I could take time off without getting paged. The work served a population of 80k builders and more ~570k software projects.I'm interested in many applications of software. I currently have professional software experience in the domains like access control, enterprise codebase management (platform engineering), productivity engineering, distributed computing, finance, R&D, and customer support. I have hobby software experience in domains like PLDI, embedded engineering, web and frontend, and robotics.Outside of software, you can find various creations and hobbies on my personal website https://so.dang.cool ranging from programming languages, web games, fabric print designs, and illustrations.
