Resident engineer representing Hadley at Daimler Trucks North America. Primary responsibilities include the development of suspension control systems, truck main mirrors, horns, and thermoformed components.

New product development of exhaust and aftertreatment systems. Routing of exhaust pipes, Design of rail mount castings, stamped steel brackets, clamps, and other mounting hardware. Analyze and validate designs using finite element analysis (FEA).

Materials research and selection to support design requirements per MIL, AMS, and SAE, primarily aluminum alloy and temper specifications. Support production and supplier manufacturing with material and finish specifications, tolerance analysis, and general drawing updates. Manufacturing liaison support. Create and validate new designs for air medical equipment.

New Product Development of heavy truck hood systems. Design compression molded fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), stamped steel, and cast hood components. Concurrent design with multiple engineering groups.  Work closely with suppliers to optimize designs for durability, manufacturability, and cost. Analyze and validate designs using finite element analysis (FEA).

Interface with sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, and product management to determine most effective and efficient design solutions. Continually review products to find cost and performance improvement opportunities. Implement new technologies and design improvements to existing product lines. Review and manage engineering changes and provide manufacturing support on the production floor. Managed CARB/EPA emissions compliance project which involved the design and implementation of new metal, rotationally molded and blow molded plastic tanks. Helped implement and manage Windchill PLM/PDM system. Actively participated in design for manufacturability, lean design, Kaizen, and cost improvement workshops.

Provide 3D design and engineering support for vehicle mockup and prototyping of new designs. Collaborate with engineering to identify and resolve integration, design, manufacturing, and cost issues. Provide CMM measurement, reverse engineering, prototyping and data collection support for DFMA workshops and engineering development activities.

Designed routing, installation, electrical, and mechanical components for the integration of critical electrical systems on Boeing 787 aircraft. Interfaced with Boeing integration team on current design progress, goal-setting, and problem troubleshooting, Collaborated with process and project managers on technical issues, process creation and implementation. Devised, prepared, and documented all releases for products.

Converted 3D data from thousands of CATIA V4 / V5 drawings, models, assemblies, and bills of material and cataloged them. Tracked work-flow and managed group tasks using database management system.
