About Justin Sargent

Justin Sargent is a Ex-Epic Games, Senior Director, Engineering. Colleagues describe him as "Justin is an innovative programmer, and an exceptional person. I worked with him closely during the creation and upkeep of our development tools for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, as well as on the new set of tools he was creating for the sequel. I am crestfallen that Justin’s recent work will never see the light of day, because it was revolutionary. He had taken the best aspects of other toolkits and designed robust, intuitive dialogue and quest editors that would have become the industry gold standard. More than any other programmer I’ve ever worked with, Justin was gifted in “customer service,” regularly soliciting feedback and improving the code. I loved working with Justin. He was articulate, patient, and he built tools for the designers who used them.", "Justin Sargent has been a -tremendous- asset to Big Huge Games over the past few years. He has driven the development for a massive amount of our tools and development pipeline, he's mastered the dark art of localization (we shall be forever in his debt for taking that bullet), and he's implemented a robust telemetry system. He's also been the volunteer troubleshooter for countless problems, often jumping to take care of problems that weren't formally his responsibility, simply because it was the right thing to do. On top of all that, Justin's creativity and passion for great games shines through on a regular basis. He adds value to game design discussions and actively keeps abreast of everything going on with the game, not just within his sphere. His communication skills are top-notch, and he approaches all his tool design from such a strong customer-centric perspective that when he presents a tool idea to the content developers, it's often better than what they would have asked for themselves! It has been a great pleasure working with Justin. I can't recommend him strongly enough.", and "Working with Justin has been one of the pleasures of my time at Big Huge Games. As a tools programmer, Justin was conscientious, responsive and helpful. He always delivered on tool requests, and because of his insight we were able to make substantial improvements to our workflow. Justin also has great cross-department communication skills, and any team should be thankful to have him."

Listed skills include Ps3, Video Games, Game Development, Lua, and 18 others.
