I architected and built an internal sales application that brought Cisco System's 80,000 products to the fingertips of sales representatives, in a simplified question and answer format. I implemented the use of the Laravel PHP framework, with a MySQL backend, along with multiple deployment targets, to best establish a continuous integration development approach. I leveraged the knowledge of Cisco's engineers to put together packages of products and services that best fit the solution at hand, generating a bill of materials printout, complete with costs and specific product SKU's.

I supported the proprietary PHP based software developed by 3C, that was used to provide solutions for research institutes and schools. I implemented change requests, bug fixes, and provided technical support for the content delivery team. I constructed an API for the flash-based games that the company built, which required bulk data to be saved and accessed via the web. I also built a new storefront for the company's e-learning products, also based on the internal proprietary software.

As the senior web architect for Cumulus Computing, I was a true full stack developer. I either assisted or handled everything from specifying server hardware, setting up the server software, architecting the database, programming the web applications, web-accessible API's, formalizing the deployment process, and implementing a QA procedure. In addition to that, I provided estimates for system upgrades (both server and software), oversaw the use of designers and mobile application developers, and acted as the technical contact for the company's clients. My largest contribution came as the builder of the company's web ReSTful API, from which the mobile applications drew their data, and the clients were able to manage their individual mobile applications.

As a web developer with GDIT, I learned how to construct and deploy websites in Ruby on Rails. The department I worked for published five international news websites in support of the Department of Defense. Each website had several languages, and all drew on an XML-based storage system. Additionally, I provided support and assistance in the upgrade from Rails 2 to Rails 3 during my time here.

We handled all aspects of website development, including CMS's, SEO, and hosting, with a special focus on Magento website development. I assisted with the maintenance of dozens of Net@Work's custom Magento extensions, with a focus on those extensions that interfaced with client's inventory management systems. I also worked on extensions that interfaced with client's customer relation managers (CRM's).

As a Website Developer for Corporate Communications, I executed website proposals for clients. I also handled many of the updates and bugfixes for existing hosted clients. I helped to set up and architect the various databases for each client's website. I also built several custom e-commerce sites for local Rochester-area clients.

I worked to plan, design, and build websites for EDI clients. I implemented custom solutions for all clients, both internal and external. I leveraged many third party services, including Authorize.net (for e-commerce clients), YahooSearch API (for internal tools), and Google Maps API. I also provided technical estimates for project proposals, specifically for architecting and programming websites. This was also my first experience with a full stack, as I was tasked with monitoring the web server (a Unix/Apache/MySQL/PHP stack), and recommending upgrades as needed. This position oversaw the upgrade from PHP 3 to PHP 4.
