My first ever client glanced at the degree on my freshly painted office wall. It hung there confidently, whispering "Don't worry, this guy absolutely knows what he's doing!" The whispers were lies, and I knew it. It felt terrible, and I made two vows to myself that day. Vow 1) I will relentlessly pursue expertise in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) so I can confidently engage couples and lead them on a journey toward healing and connection.Vow 2) I will leverage the expertise I gain to support other clinicians in their pursuit of effectively helping others and feeling confident in doing so. Today I own a private practice solely devoted to couples therapy utilizing EFT. I also have the pleasure of supervising other clinicians who are on their own journey of flourishing. I absolutely love the training and supervision arena, and look forward to increasing the hours I spend in it. Whether working with couple or clinician, they receive all I have to give. I'm driven to be excellent at the skills I focus on, including the way I show up for others. I push for improvement and reaching potential, while holding a frame of kindness, compassion, and understanding. It's an amazing privilege to walk with couples healing a broken bond. It's also exciting to assist other clinicians grow in their confidence to do the same. I enjoy meeting other people and hearing new perspectives.
