Responsible for player health and wellbeing, including warm up, coaching and playing loads, full body assessment and application of a rehabilitation program to address any issues or dysfunction, injury management, which included assessment and diagnosis, a rehabilitation plan and specific exercises to be used for how much and for how long. This included a return to training and the amount of training that could be done, as well as an official return to play date and any parameters around this, which need to be put in place and monitored e.g, if a restriction the number of of overs a player could bowl or how long (min's) a batsman can train on his batting in the nets. Key integration with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to modify these parameters, as well as individual body movements, at different times and for varying amounts during the rehabilitation time.This required effective communication between the player and the coaching staff to implement the various degrees of rehabilitation, as well as tailored injury and return to sport advice and education. This was done under the guise of a Senior Chief physiotherapist, where a good relationship is vital and good communication and well-timed planning were essential elements for excellent implementation of the plan and the strategies contained within the rehabilitation program.
