Justin Stevens is the Founder and CEO of Overlap Holdings, a frontier-tech focused VC firm. He is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in investment management, financial structuring, and business building. He has invested in, advised, built, and provided oversight to a wide range of companies across the corporate life-cycle. His network spans a wide array of fields, including finance, enterprise, industry, government, and foundations. Prior to founding Overlap, Justin was a Partner at Apollo Management, one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, where he worked for over 18 years, having been involved in a combination of investing and business building activities during that time. Justin played a key role in a number of intrapreneurial efforts at Apollo, including the formation of the firm’s Impact Investing platform; the formation of Apollo Residential Mortgage, Inc., a previously NYSE-listed residential mortgage REIT; establishment of the firm’s initial climate strategy; and the formation of Apollo’s Technology Transformation Group, which oversaw tech innovation efforts at Apollo’s portfolio companies. During his time at Apollo, Justin also served on the board of directors of a number of companies in a variety of industries. Justin has been an active investor in frontier tech markets, having invested alongside numerous top-tier, widely-known VCs as well as specialty VCs focused on frontier tech. He has also been a formal Advisor to Impact America Fund, a catalytic venture capital fund focused on creating frameworks of ownership and opportunity within marginalized communities, since early 2020. His unique combination of experience and connections across Wall Street, the Bay Area, and Washington DC provide a differentiated perspective into the opportunities for improvement in all three areas.
