Course Description: Reflecting on experiences can be a powerful tool in determining who one is and where one sees themselves going. This course provides opportunities to explore one's academic and professional past to strengthen future plans. Though primarily designed for interdisciplinary majors, all students can find this course to be useful in developing reflection and planning skills.

As Assistant Director of Continuing & Distance Education and Individual Studies (CDE & IS), I served and worked collaboratively with academic departments across campus to schedule online courses, develop and maintain program offerings, and promote high-quality distance education opportunities. I also assisted the Associate Dean and Director of CDE & IS with identifying effective plans for growth in course offerings utilizing a variety of delivery options, and examining emerging trends to provide insight into new programming or for recommending changes, as needed.Also related to distance education, this position managed the Guided Independent Study (GIS) program, which allows students around the globe to select from more than 60 online courses, enroll at any time, and complete the coursework at their own pace. Part of the duties here included working with faculty to develop new and revise current course offerings, collaborate with the Instructional Support Services Manager regarding online content development, and supervising GIS support staff members working on daily program operations.This role, too, was involved with the general planning and support of the Individual Studies unit within the division, including program and student learning outcomes assessment alongside the Associate Dean and Director of CDE & IS. Publications (such as the Academic Program Review) and on-campus assessment efforts (like the Higher Learning Commission and assessment retreats) were also incorporated into this role's duties.Finally, I served as the campus coordinator for the National Student Exchange (NSE), a study away network of colleges and universities across the United States, its territories, and Canada. I collaborated with the division Marketing Manager and assistant NSE coordinator to provide guidance on marketing efforts and overall program direction encouraging growth and awareness of the program to further strengthen the university's vision and mission.
