Healthcare information technology consultant, specializing in physician adoption of information technology, HIT project governance, process redesign, and quality improvement.• Guided CMIOs and physician change management teams to support new EHR deployments in 16 hospitals

Chief Medical Information Officer charged with overseeing HIT projects to repair California’s $2B prison healthcare system, which acts as both payer and provider for 175,000 inmate-patients. Portfolio included all HIT projects directly relevant to provision of clinical care in 33 state prisons, including implementation of clinical information systems, CPOE, medication administration barcoding, telemedicine, healthcare data exchange, and clinical data repository. Redesigned prison’s HIT system, clinical lab, and telemedicine programs with budget of $40M.

Led 2 projects: 1)Doctor’s Office Quality – Information Technology Project (CMS-sponsored pilot project to promote adoption of electronic health records in physician offices); and 2) Doctor’s Office Quality Project (CMS-sponsored pilot designed to develop and test approaches to measuring quality of care for chronic disease and preventive services in ambulatory primary care offices).
