2024- From a ragtag small group of engineers to a dedicated SRE team! What a year of hiring.- Successfully went from 0 to 1 on having real ground infrastructure and supporting software. Time to scale and build more fault tolerant infrastructure - Lots of lessons be learned as we break, iterate, and write post-mortems :)2023- Building towards reliable ground infrastructure and the supporting software.- Grew multiple teams to support our high-assurance cryptographic capabilities. Active people leadership around ~15 engineers while pushing for my IC responsibilities. Fun times.- Jumped to building a team to focus more on-premise Infra/SRE-focused problems.2022- Running a team as we race to implement a new ground infrastructure! Suddenly words like Arista, Fortigate, Palo Alto, and more are in my day-to-day vocab--and I strangely care about L1/L2 way more than I care to admit.- Attacking D&I initiatives within SpaceX. Opened my eyes to a lot of stories across the company and in the field.- Supported an additional throughput investigation to squeeze even more bits from our satellites.- Solved a challenging static/dynamic disassembly problem that recovered failed hardware in space!

2021- Swapped over to software networking problems to learn something new. L3 and above problems.- Lots of deep dives into various on-orbit debugging for a prototype constellation.- Led a throughput investigation that squeezed out 5x more bits to the ground. A lot of neat satellite network debugging. How many people get to say they insmod'ed in space?- Played a role in PoP development, focusing on bridging services together to provide packet processors user IP allocations. Humbling experience with some really smart folks.- Currently leading a network team to the deployment of the next iteration of a new constellation. Then figuring out how to scale it even more. - Promoted to a Lead Software Engineer! Working to continue building a stellar team (ping me if you are interested in SpaceX)2020- Honestly a blur, but a head-first dive into a day-1 crunch mode for getting a prototype constellation in space. Mostly software-on-satellite focused!- Supported a chunk of CI efforts (keeping things green) for the immersion within the problem domain.

2020: Leading ground software efforts (k8s, Vue, Quasar, DRF, and others) that target the development of mission system software for operations and engineers. Occasionally will jump back into embedded and write a driver or two.2018-2019: Supported re-architecture efforts for our vehicles (embedded, non-RTOS). Led development for automated altitude control software. Designed services for both accessing and aggregating vehicle telemetry with a focus on visualization and data science for future flights (Azure+Docker, TimeScaleDB/Grafana). Developed an IDL and transpiler for reverse-engineering an older telemetry protocol. Generally: Interactions with multiple engineering disciplines as there is a constant need to develop diagnostic software to support avionics technicians in validating hardware and functional requirements (LabView, C, C++, Lua). Vehicle Software development is a mix of embedded (msp430, arm) and non-embedded C, C++, and Python or Lua for scripting. Everything else is whatever web technology that fits for the project scope.

Multiple roles including principal investigator, software engineer, and technical lead. Work centered around ML-related activities, web-based visualizations, and algorithm development in some form. Environment was C++, Go, Python, and JavaScript with WebGL being the API of choice for visualizations. Major contributions included: developing a framework for the visualization and analysis of large MULTI-INT datasets using a mix of web technologies; overhead situational awareness REST API; and DSP-focused real-time alerting capabilities.

Responsibilities involve architectural, software, and geospatial design. Primary architectural efforts focus on providing educators a tool for processing student derived analytics, widgets, and response-based follow-ups.

Wide array of tasking from geospatial applications to sensor-specific integration. Mostly centered in Python and C++11. Strong usages of Django, OpenCV, NumPy, GDAL, and spatial libraries. Primary project focused on scaling detection and inference algorithms for all operational modes of specialized SAR sensors.

Integration of autonomous target recognition algorithms with autonomous aerial vehicle. Work was demonstrated at the 2012 international AUVSI competition. Notable remarks were given as the only university with true ATR capabilities. Mostly centered in Python and C++.

Developed a scalable, high-performance, and asynchronous map-based solution utilizing JavaScript, Google Maps, and jQuery. Wrote a library to replace traditional Google Maps layers with a custom module-based and signal-oriented implementation.
