Leading the development of a national charity seeking to support local youth partnerships and cross-sector networks across the country focused on outcomes for children and young people.With current bases in London, Manchester and the south west, YPF Trust is now seeking to implement ambitious plans to grow the network, build new local and national partnerships and support collective efforts for investment in quality youth and play work.

Strategic lead for UK-wide programme design, development and delivery across England, Scotland and Wales including:- Leading UK-wide operations, finance (budget of over £2m annually), safeguarding and risk- Leadership of the England team, including expansion of the team and development of new programme base in Oxford- Establishing and overseeing the new partnerships team - delivering strategic and funding partnerships across the sector, including submission of Oxfam’s first £1m bid for domestic programme work and leading partnerships with corporates, trusts and major donors- Securing multiple funding partnerships, including £300k for innovation and co-production with over 100 marginalised women in February 2018 to create new approaches to tackling poverty and gender inequality, including employment of project participants as researchers- Oxfam lead for a number of external partnerships and networks, including Advisory Board member for the Inclusive Growth Unit at Manchester University

Led Oxfam’s multi-disciplinary programmes team of 40 staff covering all of Oxfam’s programme delivery, advocacy and campaigning work on domestic poverty across England, Scotland and Wales - Providing strategic leadership for all domestic work, linking innovative, impactful programme design to wider policy and practice change, with a particular focus on inequality, women and low pay and food poverty - Leading the design of a new £1m core domestic programme, reporting to the CEO, securing additional internal investment- Management of senior staff, including Head of Oxfam Scotland and Head of Oxfam Wales- Securing £1.5m funding during the period across corporate and institutional donors, supporting women to progress out of poverty and communities to tackling systemic food poverty

Senior lead for the delivery of Oxfam’s programme in the UK, including:- Leadership of the England team, delivering new programme work from London and Manchester- Establishment and oversight of new project development and innovation systems UK-wide- Lead for fundraising, donor engagement, internal and external communications- Managing a team of 8 across multiple locations, establishing local networks and partnerships, community-led projects, UK-wide and devolved England influencing including Greater Manchester Mayoral Elections

Project managing the development of a programme strategy for Oxfam GB’s UK Programme, including:Leading the systematic assessment of Oxfam’s work in the UKDeveloping and delivering a thorough consultation process with staff and partnersDeveloping a clear and robust programme development process, coordinating with colleagues across Oxfam and external stakeholdersLeading the development, and articulation, of a vision for Oxfam’s programme work in the UK which reflects internal and external needs, including Oxfam Strategy, fundraising requirement and most importantly the desire to tackle social justice and inequality in the UK

In Spring 2013 the Youth Strategy Manager role was expanded from a focus on youth to include the development and strategic lead of accountability work across the UK Programme, including:- Leading a 7 person accountability team, line-managing 6 based across the UK- Leading the strategic development and expansion of participation and accountability work across the UK alongside the design of a UK-wide accountability framework and strategy plan- Reviewing accountability development in line with HAP standards and best practice- Providing advice and guidance to leadership and senior management on accountability systems, best practice and strategic design issues- Ensuring programme research, design and evaluation embeds the views and voices of beneficiaries at every stage; developing and advising on best practice methods and systems; exploring new qualitative research and consultation methods - Supporting cross-departmental projects to incorporate the voices and views of children and families into SCUK’s work

Leading the development of SCUK’s domestic youth participation work, including:- Line-managing a team of five Youth Campaigns and Accountability Officers across five UK regions- Led the creation and development of a youth leadership programme (Young Leaders), including content of programme, recruitment and training, M&E framework and budget- Budget-holder of £350,000 p/a budget across 5 UK regions- Engaging internal and external stakeholders to develop embedded youth participation work, including representing SCUK with external partners and networks - Developing strategies and structures for youth participation with Media, Policy, Campaigns, HR, Communications and other teams- Contributing to SCUK’s UK programme management and development as a member of senior management team- Providing organisation-wide support and advice on all issues relating to youth involvement in SCUK’s work, including communications, campaigning, policy, media and fundraising

Leading the development of new participatory approaches at Save the Children, with a focus on the development of a new youth engagement strategy for the organisation; driving the design and implementation of our youth leadership programme (Young Leaders) including:- Leading programme research and development- Working with senior leads inside Save the Children and external partners, to assess need across the sector- Responsible for the commissioning of external consultants and researchers- Developing a business case, strategic plan, UK-wide budget and fundraising strategy

Managing the development and UK-wide implementation of In My Back Yard (formerly Inspiring Change) - community led campaigning projects for children and young people - including a full strategic review of the programme including:- Coordinating the development and delivery of self-advocacy projects across the UK for children and young people through schools, youth groups and community organisations - Designing, implementing and managing UK-wide operational plan and guidance documents for staff including fundraising strategy and comprehensive M&E framework- Engaging internal and external stakeholders to develop child and youth participation networks - Representing SCUK with external partners and networks- Providing organisation-wide support and advice on all issues relating to children and youth involvement in SCUK’s work, including communication, campaigning, policy, media and fundraising

Coordinating delivery of 3 regional (London, Manchester and Tees Valley) self-advocacy projects supporting refugees and asylum seekers to develop and deliver their own campaigns including:- Coordinating and supporting 8-person team across England- Developing England-wide participatory activities including residentials and events- Supporting young people to plan and deliver UK Conference attended by over 100 delegates from across the refugee sector- Managing large donor relationships (Diana Memorial Fund, Big Lottery) including donor reporting and a £150,000 p/a budget across 3 regions

- Developing youth engagement strategy, resulting in a successful grant from the Big Lottery Young People’s Fund in October 2005 to help local young people set up their own youth environment group- Supporting young people to setup and run their own group, engage peers and work towards the group’s independence through creating training programmes and providing specialist advice and guidance- Liaising and negotiating with local authority leads to ensure collective buy-in and partnership working, leading to joint initiatives and outcomes across the community

- Co-founding project and fundraising £45,000- Engaging over 200 young people from a range of backgrounds in environmental issues- Liaising with local agencies, government, schools, youth groups, artists and consultants

- Leading a team of 12 part-time youth workers and volunteers- Responsibility for all youth-related activities run by the centre- Leading a review of youth work practice and implemented change programme- Networking with local youth work agencies and services- Engaging young people to assess their needs, and needs of the local community

- Planning and running comprehensive youth work programme- Providing support, guidance and advice to young people and their parents- Liaising with local service providers and partners to establish community engagement and development programmes
