Worked as a senior full-stack software engineer on fast growing R&D team responsible for Taboola Newsroom, an online platform established to empower newsroom authors, editors, and supervisors with in-depth analytics, alerts, and predictions. IPO June 2021.Designed and implemented core job-running framework that allows the data team to runconfigurable query jobs in spark (with udf/transformation support). Jobs are parameterizedin python, scheduled and backpopulated in airflow, and run in cloud via Kubernetes. Outputsink in parquet, HBase, csv, etc. Current backbone of our data science pipeline.Developed Newsroom Audience from POC to production, end-to-end. Dedup/aggregatemetrics in Spark + Spark SQL, store in HBase, serve via API. Frontend dashboard built usingnew React Hooks patterns, with careful memoization and generic/pure components. Setusage standards for react hooks and loading skeleton patterns in Newsroom FE team.Rebuilt our rule-based alerts identifying hit articles on Reddit and articles likely to do well onFacebook. One of three founding frontend engineers for new strategic Newsroom analytics product.Assumed a key role in engineering and leadership as FE team grew from 3 to 15+.Led the design and implementation of two complete architectural overhauls of client-sidedata logic/flow as we outscaled previous data aggregation solutions. Designed API spec forfrontend-backend contract concerning aggregation, sorting, drill-down, and load.Built configurable API hook framework that allows components to individually anddynamically request/subscribe API endpoints that are then automatically grouped,executed, cached, refreshed, and expired.
