Responsibilities IAW DoDI 8510.1, 8500.2 and Agency policy and procedures, ensures the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of systems, networks and data. Implements current DoD accreditation/authorization process and develop all necessary artifacts (System Security Plan (SSP), System Categorization, Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) and Scorecard) on key components of the Ballistic Missile Defense weapon system and associated Test networks within the Agency element. Plans, resources, and executes Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense (IA/CND) requirements for MDA networks and systems. Advises the Program Manager and key staff as required on emerging Information Assurance Technology and changes to the IA program requirements.

Prepare, plan, execute and report activities in support of the DOT&E Cybersecurity Assessment Program to include providing in-depth technical and operational knowledge as related to the cybersecurity (CS) and mission assurance (MA) posture of DoD organizations, weapon systems, weapons system operators, and operational decision makers Coordinate, observe, analyze, and report Blue and Red Team activities and conduct mission impact analysis during major Combatant Command and Service exercises Execute operationally relevant cybersecurity assessments featuring representative cyber threats to evaluate how realistic cyber conditions affect CCMD and/or Service abilities to execute their assigned missions Provide timely feedback to CCMD, Service, and DoD leadership on identified problems, associated mission effects, and successful defensive strategies Share relevant information with and support those organizations authorized and able to provide remediation and mitigation assistance and to verify that remediation and mitigation activities are effective Report overarching cybersecurity observations and trends for inclusion in the Director's Annual Report to Congress Be fully capable of conducting assessments in all aspects of cybersecurity, which includes offensive and defensive cyber operations, mission assurance and operational mission areas

Ability to analyze large data sets and unstructured data for the purpose of identifying trends and anomalies indicative of malicious activity, as well as demonstrated capability to learn and develop new techniques. · Knowledge of, and experience with, TCP/IP protocol and network/packet analysis. · Strong knowledge of current security threats, techniques, and landscape, as well as a dedicated and self-driven desire to research current information security landscape · Strong conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure designs, technologies, products, and services. This should include knowledge of networking protocols, firewall functionality, host and network intrusion detection systems, operating systems, databases, encryption, load balancing, and other technologies. · Demonstrated excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staffs. •Perform acquisition and basic to moderate static/behavioral analysis of malware specimens to determine the effects on internal systems at both the host and network level. · Ability to research, develop, and keep abreast of tools, techniques, and process improvements in support of security detection and analysis in accordance with current and emerging threat and attack vectors.

Responsibilities for this position include the reviewing and installation of ‘M’ code and documents as part of the independent validation and verification process for the Indian Health Service. I assist my team with the release of IHS applications to beta testing sites and area offices for national release. I also assist in the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) database project and the review and update of our Standard Operating Procedures.

I assist students in the Networking lab and other areas of my division with Cisco router and switch configuration, Windows Server/NT/XP/2003 and various UNIX installations in a virtualized/non-virtualized environment using MS Virtual PC. I also assist with demonstration of wiring various Ethernet topologies, systems administration, procedures and documentation maintenance, and acting as a substitute instructor and supervisor as required. I also assist the Army Reserve on a contractual basis with curricula set up and facilitation.
