**25 years experience in training and coaching professionals to increase individual and team results by becoming great at dealing with all the human stuff**After a few internships in London I was offered my first real job on a trade magazine in Amsterdam in 1992, fell in love and stayed. I didn’t enjoy my first 5 years of working, and I must have been a very difficult person to manage. I was conscientious, which got me promoted, but on the inside I was critical of my managers, of society as a whole, and even more of myself. I came close to a burnout twice; first on the magazine and later at Dockers Europe. I would read books on feminism, sustainability and the many other changes I was convinced needed to happen in the world. But that only increased my sense of powerlessness and cynicism. And then at the age of 29 I took the Essence and the Source training, which opened my thinking to a myriad of new perspectives on subjects like happiness and leadership, intelligence, joy, responsibility, empowerment and what it means to be human. My spark was lit. I witnessed what is possible when a group of individuals start to trust themselves and each other, when they drop their stories and excuses and put in the work to learn to communicate effectively. I saw how people come alive; how powerful it is.I decided I had had enough of trying to change society by reading and worrying and will never forget the day in 2000 when, together with a small team and with a toddler and a baby in tow, I mobilised 500 total strangers to clean up Amsterdam’s Vondelpark within 3 hours flat.
