Designed, coded and unit tested Translation Tool which provided forward and reverse "engineering" of data between Data Modeling and Database Design Tool. Assumed lead role at times. Managed defects, assigned bug fixes (some to myself), pushed issues to resolution and performed some re-design work in the process. Responsible, along with another team member, for porting Database Design Diagramming tools from 16 bit to 32 bit Windows platform. Due to lack of an Object Oriented design in the original code, re-architected the diagramming system along with the port. The end result was a reduction from 22,000 to 14,000 lines of code. Designed and Developed a new Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) as part of the database design tool. This diagram was a requested new feature to work alongside the existing Relationship Diagram (RD). The effort involved "Meta" changes to the RD system, requiring acareful and well thought out design. Made enhancements to exsting data engineering application for new release. Enhancements included handling extended Sybase datatype translations. Wrote functional and design specifications for this task. Followed through with coding, testing and overall product regression testing. In a later release, applied that experience to design and implement Oracle extensions to the product. Independently and effectively transitioned Powerbuilder link portion of data modeling product to team in India for maintenance.

This was a Motif based application written in C, interfacing with a Unix PCTE-based repository.
