I am a member of the Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN) where I provide coaching services to developers of clean energy and climate mitigation projects seeking financing through PFAN. PFAN is hosted by UNIDO and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).I have been working with developers of renewable energy projects since 2014, from project identification, pre-development studies, preparation of bankable projects and finance mobilization. During this period, I have shared in the pleasure of being part of the success of a few companies in their financial mobilization efforts, amounting altogether to US$ 3,017,000.I currently hold several management positions:- Operations Manager of the Sisalana Cordage factory, arguably the biggest of its kind in Eastern and Southern Africa;- Managing Director of JPFirst Limited, an IT consulting and agribusiness company;- Regional Vice Chairman (Agriculture) of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture;- Co-Chairman of the Tanga Business Council Executive Committee- Chairman of the Regional SME Advisory Committee for the Small Industries Development Organisation in Tanga, TanzaniaHolder of a Masters Degree in Agriculture from the now Wageningen University and Research in The Netherlands, I have complemented these with hands-on self-training in a wide range of fields. Before moving to the private sector, I worked in the Tanzania agricultural research system for twenty years. I developed the Soil Information for Tanzania (SISTAN) in 1987 and went on to oversee its integration into the national agricultural research system. Key positions held during my service in the NARS:- Head of national soil survey, Tanzania;- Technical Liaison Officer, SADC Regional Inventory of Agricultural Resource Base (RIARB);- Secretary General, Soil Science Society of East Africa;- Visiting lecturer, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Masters Programme (Soil Science);- Convener, Eastern & Southern Africa Soil Correlation Committee.My career as soil scientist was instrumental in honing my skills in proposal-writing, finance mobilization, and managing donor funds ranging from US$ 10,000 to US$ 175,000.I have consulted extensively for local government authorities to integrate CBOs and NGOs in rural development programmes. I have an interest in the environ¬ment and eco-farming. From 2005 to 2008 I spearheaded a biodiversity conservation project in the Eastern Arc conservation hot spot with financial support from the Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund (CEPF).
