Imbabura, Ecuador

- Coordinate workshops to update the Black-breasted Puffleg Conservation Plan (BBPCP), which has the endorsement of the Ministry of the Environment of Ecuador and over twenty local organizations. Lobby two municipalities and local governments to include the BBPCP in local strategies.- Coordinate and monitor the work of four field technicians according to the project schedule.- Produce terms of reference, contracting, and monitoring of consultancy for the Socioeconomic Diagnosis of the Piñán community as an input for the Black-breasted Puffleg Conservation Plan. - Provide technical and financial monitoring of the project, managing it jointly with the financial department.- Consolidate half-year results and produce financial and technical reports and news releases.- Develop proposals and raise over $200,000 for new projects to implement the BBPCP in the Intag Valley and expand the AyC´s Chocó-Andes program.- Mentor younger technicians in proposal development, successfully obtaining funding and supporting their implementation. - Analysis report factors for implementing the raw water tariff in the Catamayo Hydrographic Basin (CHB).- Computer module for the tariff collection of the authorizations for using and exploiting water in the CHB.- Legal and institutional analysis to establish a redistributive financial mechanism in the CHB.- Report on the delimitation of water sources in the CHB, and determination of conservation investment needs.- Supervise and coordinate the work of eight technicians. Prepare reports for the National Water Secretariat and donors. Manage project funds with the National Water Secretariat and the International Water Office. Plan and execute the project's technical and expenditure schedule.

Loja, Ecuador

- Develop proposals, manage funds, and prepare technical and financial reports. - Develop the GFW User Manual targeted at schools and municipalities to apply GFW as an environmental education resource for teachers and a forest monitoring tool for municipal technicians (43 technicians, seven journalists, 142 students, and 76 teachers were trained). - Organize an inter-school competition to use GFW to teach environmental sciences.- Write five informative articles for the local press and GFW website.- Train 20 municipal technicians to use drones to confirm GFW deforestation alerts in the field and produce aerial images of key forest areas for 11 municipal reserves. - 198,000 ha (489,268 acres) of native forest were monitored with GFW.

Loja, Ecuador

Provide technical support and monitoring to ten municipalities of Loja, Zamora, and El Oro provinces (Southern Ecuador) for elaborating and approving municipal ordinances to create protected areas and an environmental tax. Prepare ten investment plans with municipal technicians, manage their approval from the city council, and monitor their technical and financial implementation.

Nangaritza Canton, Zamora Chinchipe, Ecuador

- Produce a land tenure study (6869 acres/43 farms) with private and community owners to prioritize land purchases to create the Maycú Reserve.- Provide community support and strengthen cooperation links with 11 Shuar indigenous communities (+800 inhabitants) and two local farmers' associations to enter 61776 acres of community forests into Ecuador´s forest conservation program, Socio Bosque. - Organize community assemblies with seven Indigenous Shuar communities to develop and approve investment plans for $100,000 annually obtained from Socio Bosque.- Lobby with the Mayor and Councilors of Nangaritza County, an ordinance to create a protected area of 190,000 acres of forest and an environmental fee. Secure the county in adhering FORAGUA Water Fund.- Implement the Nangaritza Pride Campaign to conserve the water catchments of Guayzimi parish (741 acres).

Santa Cruz Canton, Galápagos, Ecuador

- Develop the proposal and be responsible for its technical and financial implementation. Prepare technical and financial reports for donors (Birdlife International, American Bird Conservancy).- Obtain research permits with the Galapagos National Park (GNP).- Explore the highlands of Santa Cruz and Isabela islands in search of Galapagos Petrel nests: 350 nests were discovered in Santa Cruz, and 24 were found in Isabela. - Manage 15 Galapagos Petrel conservation agreements with private farmers to protect nesting sites and manually control invasive plants in Santa Cruz.- The project results were used to update the Galapagos Petrel fact sheet, and the GNP included the new nesting sites within the Galapagos Petrel protection program.

Tungurahua, Ecuador

- Provide support to local communities for the establishment of the Kuripishko birdwatching eco-route and the Huirachuro Ecotourism Association.- Create the Llanganates Support Group with members of five communities and implement a training program in environmental topics, including a twelve-month birdwatching and bird identification course.- Develop an environmental education program with four schools and three colleges (450 students).- Organize and maintain a plan of activities for ten international volunteers.- Develop the Patate County bird inventory and the Photographic bird guide of Yambo Lake.- Establish links with the Vision Service Adventures organization to work in the county.

Mindo, Pichincha, Ecuador

- Coordinate, evaluate, and supervise four field researchers.- Manage and administer databases and prepared technical reports.- Perform field ornithological research in the Yanacocha, Verdecocha, and Alaspungo reserves. Apply the “multiple time period transect mapping” methodology (Olaf Jahn, 2008) and point counts, bird vocalization recording, and mist nets in the Mindo Nambillo Protected Forest.- Analise and identify 1500 bird recordings of 120 bird species.
