About Johnny Valencia Calvo, Ph.D.
As an assistant professor at the University of Aysén, my work revolves around dynamic analysis, nonlinear dynamics, and system dynamics with a strong emphasis on modeling, simulation, and the application of mathematics in engineering. I obtained my degree in Electronics Engineering in 2010 and an M.Sc. in Industrial Automation in 2012, both from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences and Decision in 2016.My professional journey has been deeply enriched by my involvement in systems dynamics and complex systems modeling. This expertise, combined with my skills in project management and administration, has allowed me to lead projects focused on advancing Science, Technology, and Innovation. These projects have not only been about promoting these fields but also about creating and integrating work teams to further these aims.My current research interests lie in the domain of remote sensing, analysis, modeling, and simulation grounded in system dynamics, particularly in the contexts of decision-making, knowledge management, smart lands, and more. My ambition extends to designing and implementing a Data, Modeling, and Simulation Center for Chilean Patagonia.I am known for being an enthusiastic researcher, always seeking new challenges and opportunities for international cooperation to develop and collaborate on projects that contribute to the industry's development.
