Led a learning & development function for both customers and sales team while building a mighty team of four (including two instructional designers, a trainer, and a training administrator). We partnered with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to design and provide a wide range of learning opportunities for customers and sales associates.During this time we more than doubled training offerings for sales associates and customers. I also led a project across several teams to migrate into a new LMS (BlueVolt). This entailed designing two entirely new UIs (one for customers and one for the sales team) for which we conducted extensive empathy research and remote testing. The team migrated over 10,000 user accounts and over 100 courses into the new LMS!

In this role, I managed all aspects of Legrand AV's online, multiple-brand customer training experience. My initial focus was providing e-learning for people in the AV industry who need continuing ed credits to maintain their certification. (For the insiders, I'm talking about AVIXA's CTS certification.) Subsequently, my role expanded to include sales effectiveness e-training and development. But it wasn't all "e" all the time! I also got to do bit of good 'ole fashioned hands-on training sessions for sales and customers!.Fun fact: Less than 3 months into the job I took the behemoth AV industry certification exam and am now what's called "CTS certified."

I helped coaches, consultants and freelancers create inspiring, high-quality online courses that take their business to a whole new level.

For those who have just transplanted in Minnesota from elsewhere, Minnesota Nice can be one of the most challenging things about living in Minnesota. Corey Bonnema and I created the "Surviving & Thriving in Minnesota Nice" website and book to help transplants figure out what is going on with Minnesota Nice and, more importantly, to help make their adjustment to working and living in Minnesota easier. We've also led numerous workshops and presentations for businesses and HR organizations seeking to understand how to better recruit and retain transplants.

In this position, I was responsible for organization development and training at the University of Minnesota Libraries, consisting of 350 staff and six divisions. This included designing and delivering or coordinating leadership development programs and other training; leading engagement efforts; designing/leading large-scale meetings with the associated leaders; and coaching managers and individual contributors to increase their effectiveness. Really fun work!

Created and led a team of nine staff responsible for orientation for faculty and students, in-person and online training for over 5,000 students annually, professional development programs for faculty, coordination of the help desk and FAQ, development of general digital tools for using the libraries, professional development programs for staff, and e-learning support to library staff creating online modules for faculty/staff training.

Assessed what 21st Century undergraduates and their faculty needed from the library, identified and executed solutions with support of a library-wide task force and a small team. Included the development of the SMART Learning Commons, the conceptualization and implementation of the Undergraduate Virtual Library web site, and a seminar for faculty incorporating information literacy competencies into courses.

Built a user education program for faculty and students and developed library staff so that they could provide the knowledge, skills, and aptitudes to participate fully. Included coordinating instructional design teams using an instructional design process to co-develop curriculum for research workshops offered ~150 times a semester with 20 staff and GA’s assisting or teaching.

Included collaborating on the development and piloting of an online library help desk, redesigning the University of Minnesota Libraries’ e-Learning tutorial, QuickStudy, and developing and disseminating a report called "Transforming to a Teaching Library" which lays out initial steps for realizing the Libraries’ Information Literacy initiative;
