A natural products chemist by trade and passion, and currently the Co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Psilera Inc. I have travelled the world in search for new chemistry from Antarctica to the Caribbean, written and lectured widely on natural products, and more recently focused on the medical potential of psychoactive natural substances. I was named The Most Read Author of 2016 by the American Chemical Society (ACS) for our publication on new antibiotics from Antarctic marine sponges. After my postdoctoral work in informatics and antibiotics research, I moved into the central nervous system space to find better pharmaceuticals for patients suffering from mental health, neurodegeneration, and addiction disorders. This work has been recognized with a 2019 Cosmic Sister Emerging Voices Award, 2020 ACS ElSohly Award for Excellence in Cannabis Chemistry, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Nature, and National Geographic.
