Each project or venture opens new doors.I started my first business, Electronics2You, a low voltage A/V integration company in 1999. I saw the future of A/V merging with, at the time, a young internet. E2You became a leader in residential integrated systems. A health issue brought the area of nutrition front & center in my life. That was 2005. Since then I have been devoted to learning about nutrition & how it affects our biochemistry. And I have developed several nutritional products.YUMtrition Meal Supplement Shake was the first health product that I developed. It's the result of many years of trial & error. I took a similar approach to its development as does the craft brew and artisan coffee crowd. That is to gain an intimate knowledge of every ingredient. It allowed me to do things in ways that hadn't been done before.For example, when I was first developing YUM, it was not common to use raw cacao powder. Cacao powder, used in chocolate products, is extremely difficult to formulate with. Other products were using a cut version of cocoa powder called dutched processed or alkalized which means they took out all the good stuff to make it easier to formulate. I knew I had to use the healthy raw cacao, so I enrolled in a 30 day chocolate bean to bar school where I would learn everything you can about cacao. This is where my obsession with cacao began. The obsession led to an entirely new beverage category, Cacao Juice.bevCacao is a healthy new juice squeezed from the pulp of the cacao fruit. The development of this brand had two objectives; Improve the health of the consumer while improving the lives of the producers. The numerous health benefits of cacao have been studied, tested and documented over many years. From improved circulation and cardiovascular health, to improved cognition and protecting cells from damage to list only a few. Until now, cacao was mainly consumed in the form of chocolate or cocoa powder. The fruit’s pulp has been wasted. Hardworking farmers on small family-owned farms harvest the fruit and sell the seeds to a collective but discard the pulp. We began juicing the pulp for bevCacao. The pulp makes up approximately 30% of the fruit and thus, we are providing up to 30% new revenue for these farmers. This added income stream requires no additional investment or labor on their part. It's life changing for them.
