Dr. Jeremy A. Magruder Waisome is an Assistant Professor in the Engineering Education Department in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. Her research focused on utilizing critical mentoring in STEM education to understand how it can positively impact trajectories using narrative methods.Dr. Waisome teaches Engineering, Design, and Society, an introductory course to develop students’ skills around design thinking principles and making. She also teaches a graduate-level course called Learning and Teaching in Engineering, which focuses on introducing students to best-practices for instruction in STEM.She is an avid science communicator and is passionate about broadening participation in engineering and computing.
