Responsible of the Business Development department at Elhuyar Group. This department deals with the marketing and communication strategy at Elhuyar as well as the analysis and development of new market and business strategies for all the group. Josu also works as responsible of International projects at Elhuyar.

Elhuyar was set up in 1972 with the aim of linking science and the Basque language. Elhuyar started life as a Cultural Association and became a Foundation in 2002. Since then, the Elhuyar Foundation has not stopped working to popularise science and technology, and to promote the development of the Basque language.Josu is currently working as Innovation and Project Manager at ELHUYAR and is a member of the Management Board of the Foundation. He has extensive experience as project coordinator in international projects, such as localisation of software packages to Basque of Microsoft Windows, Office, Linux and OpenOffice. He is actually the coordinator of the European project STIMULA (www.stimula-project.eu), and has been a partner in different European projects as Moblang (www.moblang.eu), or ScienceCamps. He has also been working at different National R&D projects as Project Manager, e.g., Hizking21, AnHitz or OpenTrad as well as computational linguistic development projects.

LANGUNE is an association of Basque Country companies belonging to the Language Industry sector. This association was set up in 2010 and brings together over 35 companies in the spheres of translation, content, teaching and language technologies.

Eleka Ingeniaritza Linguistikoa, Ltd. Co. was created in 2002 by two outstanding institutions in the Basque Country: the IXA research team of the University of the Basque Country, and Elhuyar Fundazioa.IXA Research team, from the Computing Faculty of the University of the Basque Country, has been recognized as a High Performance Team by the Basque Government. IXA has been making research works for more than 20 years in the area of language engineering and natural language processing.Elhuyar Fundazioa is a reference institution in the standardization of the corpus and the status of the Basque language, Euskara, as well as on spreading science and technology, and promoting Information and Communication Technologies.Eleka is a company that works on Research, Development and Innovation in the field of language engineering, paying special attention to development and innovation phases. It offers solutions to people, companies and organizations that have to face up challenges on managing multilingualism.Josu set up the linguistic engineering SME Eleka in 2001 and ran it as General Manager until 2003 when he came back to ELHUYAR as Project Manager. Since then has continue involved in the company as secretary of the Management Board.
