  • Gojo Industries
Vice President, Hygiene Sciences And Public Health Advancements Achievements Section 2
    Gojo Industries Jan 2014 - Aug 2023
ACHIEVED IN THIS ROLECUSTOMER / KOL DEVELOPMENT• Identified the need to formalize processes for developing scientific collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL). Evangelized enterprise-wide, winning support. Built the strategy and created templates with input from key contributors and stakeholders. Led all training and rollout activities. This resulted in formal system to enable scientists to better collaborate with internal business leaders on opportunities involving scientific KOL in key markets (primarily B2B). The following are additional customer engagement successes:HEALTHCAREo Worked with thought leader Dr. Boyce (lead author of the CDC healthcare hand hygiene guideline) and a CDC Epicenter (U. Iowa, via Dr. Polgreen) to address a threat to alcohol-based hand sanitizers.HEALTHCARE & FOOD SERVICEo Coalesced leaders from different markets in an effort to get end user attention and credibility and have WHO and FDA influence to modernize their hygiene recommendations in the FDA Food Code (long-term influencing goal).FOOD HANDLINGo Publication by two food safety thought leaders Dr. Schaffner and Dr. Gerba brings real world outcome evidence around the risk of contaminated “bulk soap” in food handling environments.INSURANCE INDUSTRY & EMPLOYEE HEALTH OUTCOMESo Partnered with an Insurance industry leader with an individual KOL (Dr. Jarvis, formerly CDC) to connect hand hygiene directly with infection costs via clinical claims (never been done before). MEDIA RELATIONS / CRISIS MANAGEMENT• The Today Show came to GOJO to respond to FDA update for a same-day “hostile interview”. Led a coalition to create a publication to counter-act the “hygiene hypothesis” (mostly with partners in the UK) that would be useful with both technical thought leaders and the media globally. This resulted in positive reports on CBS Sunday Morning, the Today Show, and in Perspectives in Public Health journal.
