⇒ Tasked with developing a process to allow developers to write and run GPU-enabled integration tests in the cloud. While investigating the state of this development across several teams, there were many instances of solving the same problem in ways that were completely unique to their respective team, but redundant. ⇒ Assessed and retired three projects that had been stagnated, enabling my small team to focus on more impactful projects. While retiring these projects, I furnished the affected developers with alternative solutions.⇒ Maintained proprietary Debian (Ubuntu Linux) and Homebrew (macOS) packages for our developers' primary workflow tool. This meant maintaining the software and the package for both platforms, adding new features, and even porting the tool from Ubuntu 14.04 to newer distributions. Eventually, 65% of our packaging and distribution code (for all packages, not just this one) had been overhauled.⇒ Designed a custom developer workflow for a team of more than 10 people (and their external contractors) enabling them to add new Unreal Engine code to an already massive Git codebase, then provided support and training for them as they adopted the new workflow and learned how to use Git.⇒ Provided a user-friendly and interactive command-line utility for developers to easily provision, connect to, and retire remote development servers backed by Amazon EC2. This was part of a larger org-wide effort to adopt a thin-client architecture for our developers.⇒ Refactored our developer on-boarding and education materials, keeping them current and revising them based on student feedback.⇒ Worked asynchronously (from home, train, office, etc) with teams spread across several time zones over video, voice, and text.

As an independent contractor with Builder Code Works, I met with clients to discuss their product vision and plan the path to making it a reality. I used Django and Ruby on Rails frameworks to develop full-stack web applications. I kept an active dialogue with my clients in order to ensure that they had influence in the development process and were satisfied with the end product.

I built hardware and software solutions, including desktop and/or networked storage computers. I also gave consult to my clients regarding their solutions, e.g the best choice of laptop or tablet, or best security software to meet their needs. These things required my staying up to date with the consumer electronics market. I also offered training to my clients on device use and maintenance. I used this as a side-venture to help me pay my way through school and now that I've obtained my degree, have no need for it. I will, of course, still be forced to be tech support for my close friends and family.
