• Contract role for William Grant & Sons, the largest family owned and independent whisky distiller in Scotland. The initial contract has been extended on six occasions. The role includes
• Analysis of the entire SQL Server estate across all global locations to plan and implement a consolidation and upgrade project.
• Audit of all required SQL Server related licensing for submission to Microsoft.
• Sole DBA on the project to introduce a new ETL solution using SSIS, together with a Data Warehouse combining data from multiple sites and sources (e.g. Oracle, Progress OpenEdge, OSIsoft PI).
• Implement a DR solution utilising Always On Availability Groups to a newly acquired DR site. Designed and implemented a three-node cluster to provide both HA and DR capabilities.
• Migration of a key Oracle 9i database to SQL Server 2012 using the SQL Server Migration Assistant for Oracle.
