Taking the time to learn different menus and functions, coupled with high performance reviews, led to my being trained and tasked in multiple areas of the outbound process.

Attention to detail and maintaining accuracy of data were critical to this role, as an inaccurate keystroke could have led to a delay in someone's release from jail, adding inaccurate charges, causing the case file to be misplaced, or perhaps worse. I would find errors (and usually the correct solutions) often enough that one supervisor told me she hated seeing me walking to her desk because she knew that I had found an error that was above my pay-grade to correct.

While serving as a lower enlisted my MOS was "Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic." However, my superiors tasked me as the IASO, or Internet Assurance Security Officer, because I was the most tech savvy in our unit. This position was filled by NCOs and Officers in other units.
