About James Hass
I want to know your story.I believe that everything we do begins and ends with story. What company we chose to join, how we design a process or training, the way we approach an uncomfortable situation - our story informs every decision. Where we were raised, the city we live in, the last movie we saw, or whether or not we had a good night's sleep. It all feeds into the creative moment we apply to our work. When partnering with a client, I want to know the big picture. I want to know how they see their challenge and what they've experienced. What they loved; what they didn't love. How their initial efforts felt at the end of the day and why they decided they needed a new process, communication strategy, or training event. Without this background, it's all just slides in a powerpoint deck.Process Design, Communication & Training Strategy, Instructional Design, Event Facilitation, Design Thinking. When I get down to work to do any of these, I look at the story behind the need, and the individual stories of those involved. Next steps, insights, and unexpected ideas come to mind as if planned.I have worked as a training and communications professional for over 20 years. I've facilitated process re-designs, created communication plans, designed workshops, developed training strategy, and lead project teams. On every project - I've gotten to know the people involved and why they're involved with the project. Their experience fueled it. Their history informed it. Whether or not we succeeded depended on knowing how their story shaped the work being done.Through learning your story, we can partner, create, and transform.
