Initially worked with MySpace/Fox Interactive Media on a long term contract while at iSEC. After an extremely successful engagement that reduced spammer registrations to a fraction of a percent of their peak and saved millions in hardware costs alone, went full time working on large scale abuse and spammer detection that leveraged distance based hashing.

Lead small teams of consultants on dozens of engagements lasting between 2 weeks and 3 months for customers of all sizes and industries from game publishers to healthcare providers and financial institutions. Projects spanned the gamut from discovering evasions in popular desktop antivirus software to abuse detection for large social media sites.

Security Architect for MSN division. First dedicated security hire for Passport, which did 4 billion authentications/mo at the time, across Hotmail, MSN Messenger, Billing, Points and assorted other services. Team expanded to cover application security for the whole MSN division and was responsible for the first large scale CAPTCHA deployment.

Hired as the first full time employee working on the Ballista vulnerability scanner (later renamed to CyberCop Scanner when Network Associates acquired SNI in 1998). Ported entire unix based scanner to Windows NT 4, from UI down to NDIS drivers for sniffing and sending raw packets. Also did initial FreeBSD port. Ballista was the first scanner that did.
