As Global Head of Equities and Alternative Investments for Arch Capital Group Ltd. (Nasdaq: ACGL), I built a nearly $5 billion investment program within the insurance company's general account. In public equities, I transformed an index-based equity investment portfolio into a billion-dollar global investment program using outsourced specialist equity managers. In alternative investments, I established and grew a global alternative investments program of over $3 billion. Prior to Arch Capital, I was Co-Head of AI International, a significant international family investment office where I was Co-Head of Investments and member of the Investment Committee, and led two other investment programs. Previously, I was a Managing Director of Alternative Investment Group, a global hedge fund fund-of-funds where I led new manager research and was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.Private market expertise includes: private equity, private credit, venture capital, growth equity, real estate, and infrastructure, investing through funds, co-investment vehicles, and directly into private companies.Public markets experience includes: global equity, fixed income, FX, and commodities strategies; and a broad range of global hedge fund strategies, including long/short equity, event-driven equity, distressed debt, special situations reorganizations (debt and equity), fixed income arbitrage, global macro, foreign exchange and commodities trading, and various niche arbitrage and opportunistic strategies.Throughout my career, I have built and managed investment teams, served on investment committees making both strategic and tactical investment decisions, and three times launched new investment programs focused on Asian markets.I have traveled extensively in search of exceptional investment talent, meeting in person with investment managers and entrepreneurs throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.As a private investor, I seek out compelling seed-stage and early growth stage companies focused on consumer market places, fintech, cloud software, gaming, and future of transportation.
