Conducted materials science, chemistry, and physics experiments in Prof. Robert J. Cava's lab at Princeton. The program emphasized extensive practical experimentation and project management. Materials research was related to superconductors, magnetism, and quantum computing. Coached and mentored 4 undergraduate students and more than 5 graduate students in the laboratory through multi-year projects. Several of these students went on to industry and post-doctoral success.- Project Management/Expansion of Cava Lab Capabilities: Led & budgeted lab development projects totaling over $350,000 for Professor Robert Cava’s Solid State Laboratory to increase experimentation capabilities. Designed and built chemical reactors, worked with vendors to install equipment, and trained researchers to safely use research tools. - Exotic materials: Synthesized and characterized metals, intermetallics, and ceramics, which hadn’t previously existed, to create new materials for use as superconductors and in quantum computing. Overarching goal was to expand understanding of magnetism, materials processing, and data characterization. Worked with materials at extremely hot (>1500 °C) and cold (cryogenic, <-372 °C) temperatures. - X-Ray Crystallography Data Analytics: Conducted multivariate analyses of crystal diffraction patterns, determining and modeling over 130 new chemical structures.- Battery Technology: Conducted extensive research and developed expertise in battery technology.
