Over the years that I spent as an engineer working in the automotive area, I progressed from an entry-level engineer to a lead engineer, supervising more junior engineering, drafting, and administrative staff. As a Lead Engineer, I traveled both nationally (Arizona, Indiana, California, Massachusetts, Michigan) and internationally (Canada, Japan, Mexico) in support of customers, Sanden’s manufacturing facilities, and key suppliers.• Aided specification development and translated them into product features and design approach for customers such as Ford, Chrysler, Daimler Benz, GM, Nissan, Tesla, and Caterpillar.• Instructed customer’s engineers in product operation and operational characteristics.• Negotiated alternative solutions, steering customers away from unnecessary expenses and/or unrealistic requirements. In addition, I trained in Japan for the purposes of customer technical support, and supplier evaluation. I found that my rudimentary Japanese language and cultural skills were very helpful in subsequent understanding of English spoken by a myriad of colleagues.• Utilized basic knowledge of German and ability to read the German specifications when the English translation was not exact. • Interpreted German-language-only specifications, such as early versions of specifications by VDA (Verband Der Automobilindustrie), a European automotive standards group. My areas of expertise include engineering practices such as:• TS16949 Quality Management System (DFMEA, PFMEA, DRBFM, APQP)• Design Control• Control Plans• Failure Analysis• GD&T and Stackup• Testing Design and SelectionMy experience with engineering tools includes:• Mechanical FEA•
