Oversees a team of IT architects reporting to the CTO. Responsible for developing and implementing UCSB's campus cloud strategy supporting instructional, research, and administrative computing workloads. Responsible for the design and operation of the campus's central identity systems.Accomplishments* Developed UC Santa Barbara's hybrid-cloud strategy and led the implementation of environments in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.* Lead the combination and integration of the new Cloud and Identity team made up of professionals from the former ETS and SIST IT units.* Develop roadmap for IAM and Identity services; including migrating to cloud-native services.

Responsible for Cloud computing initiatives within the organization and for directing the architectural aspects of a Cloud-focused team across all facets of IT and business. Provide leadership in developing a Cloud strategy and coordinate adoption.Accomplishments* Designed and built the Campus Cloud environment for AWS, Azure and GCP public cloud platforms* Developed the Cloud Impact Hub to provide cloud consulting services, cloud training and mentorship to campus constituents

Manage the MSI ITS group, which includes desktop support, web development, systems administration, and network administration.Manage projects that include hosted and non-hosted applications, design of custom applications for the department or researchers, and roll out of new systems or services.Administrate a heterogeneous environment that includes Linux and Windows servers and Mac and Windows workstations, as well as Cisco and HP networking equipment. Deploy and manage departmental and research group servers. Maintain the department network and firewall.Responsible for strategic planning and coordination with the various research groups to design and budget the MSI IT infrastructure, which includes system and network security and disaster recovery planning.
