When I entered professional education nearly 17 years ago, I was hooked. It’s incredibly rewarding to help working professionals take their careers to the next level, whether it’s upskilling, making a slight pivot, or pursuing an entirely different path. As a leader in higher education, I love building, launching, and fine-tuning academic programs that enable talented professionals to make their next goal a reality. If you speak with one of our master’s degree students, you will hear about my approachability and high energy; other leaders I work with would likely mention my strong results and strategic-thinking skills. Members of my team would probably comment on my dedication to them and the students we serve. Data-informed decisions and a marketing background have enabled me to shepherd many certificate and degree concepts from infancy to long-term, self-sustaining programs. As a result, I am the first-ever Director of Professional Master’s Programs for Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE). Since assuming this role, the number of online learners that GTPE serves has grown from 1,100 to more than 8,000, in 16 online credit programs. Over the past four years, our largest program’s revenue increased by 60% and its course offerings increased by 68%, while delivering a 1,827% marketing return on investment. In addition, my role expanded to Director, Academic Programs and Student Services, which entails overseeing the operations and enrollment services of Georgia Tech’s online degree programs. Over the years, I’ve received accolades, including University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) awards and Georgia Tech’s Entrepreneurship Award. I have also been tapped to speak at conferences, such as the Affordable Degrees-at-Scale Symposium, on topics ranging from scalable student services,. framework to develop an online credential, staffing models.
