The CSA FHE working group addresses fully homomorphic encryption in cloud contexts to help the industry understand best practices in leveraging FHE for data protection and processing. The goal of this WG is to provide education and guidance on FHE both for users and regulators, assist in the alignment of CSA resources such as the CCM with FHE capabilities, and drive safe application practices in the use of FHE.

As head of strategic innovation, my task is to leverage technical and market knowledge in shaping our commercial positioning, customer engagement and product and services offerings. This includes oversight on the design and functionality of Explore, our cloud platform and SDK, which solves the issue of user access and engagement with dedicated hardware for Fully Homomorphic Encryption.Beyond the technical aspects of the role, I am also responsible for client engagement and requirements gathering, communicating the objectives and capabilities of Optalysys technology to the outside world, and converting user feedback into high-level product requirements. This is mediated via the strategy for our Innovation Lab, our framework for end-user onboarding onto our Explore platform and subsequent development support and consultancy.

As VP of applications at Optalysys, my remit is to provide strategic guidance and input as we navigate the exceptionally broad range of use-cases for our ultra-fast photonic computing hardware. I merge a strong focus on technical detail with awareness of commercial trends into insight that helps to guide our product design, marketing and technical development.As the business is expanding, I am also responsible for onboarding and managing incoming applications engineers and identifying tasks and deliverables that directly support our commercial objectives. I also take an extremely active role in investment discussions and communicating with stakeholders, subcontractors and the public.

As a member of the applications team at Optalysys, my role is to develop mathematical models and use-cases for novel hardware designed by Optalysys. The core purpose of this hardware is to accelerate computing by leveraging Fourier optics to perform a mathematical function called the Fourier transform at previously unimaginable speeds. Fourier transforms are one of the most important data analysis tools in mathematics, physics, and engineering, and are applied across a vast range of fields and applications. This means that I am frequently required to jump into different areas of technology and research. My day to day goals are twofold: First, to create and execute projects that allow us to test, benchmark, and develop the performance of cutting-edge optical computing technology. Second, to discuss and collaborate with academic and industrial stakeholders as to the potential future uses of the technology, and where the greatest benefits may lie.
