"Why I write" is such a deep question, when you dig beyond "because I love it and I'm good at it." I write because of people who wrote things that made me think about the world differently and changed me as a person. I therefore write with the same purpose, to inform and entertain, melding

I am always learning, always bettering the caliber of service I provide. As an editor, I edit with the preservation and growth of the writer's voice in mind. A better writer not only requires fewer edits, but grows in confidence and capability, delivering increasingly daring copy. I'm meticulous, while encouraging fun with language. I believe in communication as much as I believe in making deadlines. It's imperative, and crucial to my and the project's success. Is an amazing tool. . . for brainstorming, overcoming writer's block, poking holes in plots, bouncing ideas off of, tutoring, double-checking analyses, and otherwise thinking of what you wouldn't. I fear it as much as I would an assistant, and use it oftenโjust not to write or edit. My copy is my own. And I find AI editing programs stifling to creativity, even inhibiting the usual evolution of language through wordplay, sometimes adding errors by way of being helpful, other times exhibiting racial or cultural bias (my only "about me" hot take). If youโre looking for someone who can balance narrative craft, data analysis, and precise editing, letโs talk. Iโd love to chat 1:1 about how I can meet your copy or manuscript needs.
