I helped to plan and solicit content every month, whilst contributing my own short-form features. From July 2018-August 2019, I edited a total of 13 issues. From August-October, to cover staff shortages, I managed my time between two key roles within the Collections team: Interlibrary Loans (ILL) and Print Subscriptions. For ILL, I monitored the team’s inbox for loan requests from external institutions, and I used Sierra (library management system) to respond to ILL requests from Essex students and staff. For Subscriptions, I updated the library database daily with newly received journals and magazines before shelving them correctly.Furthermore, I became the go-to person to deliver digitised print materials ahead of deadlines, digitising upwards of 50 pages per day. I trained 5 colleagues to follow efficient processes so that they could spend an hour per day on digitisations, which saved the team ~25 hours of time per week.I also continued my work in reviewing online reading lists, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail by correcting metadata errors, informing the Acquisitions team of stock to order, and linking e-resources to improve user experience.
