CUSO Financial Services operates as a broker-dealer and registered investment advisor to credit unions and their members in the U.S. After CFS purchased Orcas Net's dataVISION platform, I was brought on board in a senior management position. In this role, I oversee the ongoing development of the wealth management platform including the design of new features and integrations with partner systems. I also provide insights to support the organization's technology vision, administer a multi-million dollar budget, and supervise 12 direct reports.Key Successes:- Platform & Infrastructure Improvement - * Boosted system availability to 99.99% (a 10-fold increase) while elevating scalability and technical growth capacity upon virtualizing and transitioning to private cloud VMWare infrastructure. * Reinforced business continuity through deploying robust disaster recovery infrastructure. * Progressed a major platform modernization initiative by identifying and working with a strategic partner.- Software Development - * Drove the design of client-facing native mobile apps to facilitate a comprehensive view of clients' investment portfolios. * Built a client profiling tool, BuildMyProfile, to enable direct capture of client demographics. * Optimized services via coordinating integrations with LaserApp, Pershing NetX360, and DocuSign, among other partner systems. * Led the creation of advisor-facing native mobile apps to improve document imaging workflows.- Leadership - * Navigated post-acquisition integration processes, guiding platform migration and the transition of the Orcas Net team into the CFS corporate structure.

Orcas Net Inc. was a leader in customer relations, workflow, reporting, accounting, and compliance software for the financial services industry. When the founder decided to retire, he appointed me to take ownership of the business based on my product knowledge and leadership capabilities. Upon accepting the role, I led the continuing development of dataVISION and integrations with partner systems while nurturing a lasting relationship with our primary customer, CUSO Financial Services. I supervised 12 direct reports and controlled a $3M budget.Key Successes: * Championed CFS' acquisition of dataVISION and guided the Orcas Net team in integrating into the CFS structure and culture. * Evolved the organization from a founder-led consultancy into an engineering entity within a larger enterprise by formulating a strategic succession plan. * Orchestrated the transition from an outdated to modernized technology stack through defining a technical architecture roadmap. * Migrated from a single antiquated datacenter to redundant world-class datacenters to protect business operations. * Bolstered development capabilities upon expanding the software team from 2 to 8 developers.

I was hired to develop and enhance the company's proprietary financial services software including the dataVISION platform. My scope of duties encompassed pinpointing and resolving problems in software to ensure quality, functionality, and the fulfillment of client requirements. I developed processes and tooling to improve collaboration among a remote team. I built the team and led the effort to migrate the dataVISION platform from its antiquated platform to a modern framework.
