I've been involved with Maritime Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) since 2008 and completed my Coxswain training in 2010. I've held both the Deputy and Station Leader positions. In 2012 I joined the RCMSAR Headquarters team where I was the Director of Operations overseeing 33 SAR stations and approximately 1000 volunteers to ensure operational readiness in response to maritime Search and Rescue missions across British Columbia. I worked closely with the Canadian Coast Guard SAR programs to ensure RCMSAR effectively supported Coast Guards maritime search and rescue mandate. In 2018 I joined the Canadian Coast Guard team in Victoria, BC as an Enforcement Officer under the Canadian Coast Guards hazardous vessels mandate under the Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act (WAHVA) and marine pollution mandate under the Canada Shipping Act 2001 (CSA 2001)
