The project led to the launching of a proposed $750K battery demonstration using a breakthrough battery technology. • Led a 10-person project to track advances and develop signposts for low-carbon energy technologies (e.g. PV, fuel cells, geothermal, energy efficiency, etc.) • Stationary and Vehicle Energy Storage Research: Delivered battery and electric vehicle-related strategic updates to Chevron’s Chairman, CTO, and other senior management; provided technical due diligence; co-authored an internal whitepaper. • Technology Monitoring and Forecasting: helped shape Chevron strategic planning by 1) projecting costs of several different alternative fuel vehicles (electric, fuel cell, etc.); 2) projecting future fuel demand in the US, China, and Australia; and 3) enhancing our models to enable scenario and sensitivity analyses. • Helped Catchlight Energy (a Chevron/Weyerhaeuser JV) management decide which next-generation biofuel production pathways to pursue/abandon for pilot-scale demonstration by developing and managing the financial model and decision analysis tools.
