As Finance Director, I was responsible for all financial compliances for the Research and Development centre in India including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of financial statements to the parent company, payroll, statutory compliances on taxation, STPI formalities, etc.As a member of the core management team for the India R&D centre, I was involved in formulating policies and procedures.My role involved liaising with internal and external auditors, as well as tax consultants.• Key achievements:o Successfully implemented the transfer of business of the R&D centre from the Overseas Development Centre of Ness Technologies to Business Objects’ independent legal entity- this included overseeing the STPI formalities, liaising with the management of the ODC and the transfer of funds for the proceeds of transaction.o Formed the accounting team, set up accounting systems and ensured that all reporting deadlines were met from the very beginning.o Along with the core management team, developed and implemented policies and procedures for the company in India.o Successfully implemented SOX controls for the company in India.

In my role at Pierian, I managed a team of finance professionals responsible for service deliverables across clients. As a member of the core management team of Pierian, I was involved in business development, pricing decisions, negotiations with prospective clients and preparation of hiring and staffing plans. As the head of the team, I was responsible for MIS, cash budgets, variance analysis, statutory compliance, payroll, liaison with external agencies such as banks and statutory auditors, and maintenance of corporate secretarial records.I also formulated finance and HR policies, structured compensation and conducted tax impact assessment for clients.
