I seek systemic change across the whole of the capitalist system - it's the only system we have that has worked, but it has created a deeply flawed world. My current focus is on accelerating systemic change, across our human-social-economic systems. I am a co-founder of North Star Transition which seeks to catalyse and facilitate tipping change that has exponential impacts across the planet.I work with cities and companies, through the advisory company Fronesys, to help them think in an integrated and wholistic way: breaking down the barriers that cause silo thinking, and tying together multi-capital impacts. I am firmly of the view that financial capital is important, but is certainly not the only factor that decides how organisations should strategise, manage and communicate their activities. The other capitals, such as human capital, intellectual capital, relational capital, social capital and natural capital, are all just as significant in enabling organisations to create value. As a result, I was part of the team that drove the integrated reporting movement, helping the Framework achieve its objective of becoming the next generation of corporate reporting. Among other activities at the International Integrated Reporting Council, I co-chaired the Integrated Thinking & Strategy group, and led the Technology Initiative. I love the challenge of entrepreneurship, having been involved in four startups myself. I am also keen to share my learnings with others to help them achieve their own dreams and objectives. As a result, I have taught entrepreneurship courses in different ways, particularly the Technology Entrepreneurship elective course at Said Business School, University of Oxford. I want to see business using its value-creating power to make a positive impact on society and the community it operates in. As a result, I was on the investment committee of Ibex, an impact fund that invests in the best kind of business – ones that make an impact. I have contributed a chapter to the Oxford Handbook for Food, Water and Society, Oxford University Press (2018) titled, Integrating Multi-capital Thinking into Business Decisions.
