As a prior Community Health Educator at Shout Your Abortion (SYA), I am passionate about empowering people to make informed decisions about their reproductive health and rights. With my background as a disabled Army veteran and a medical laboratory technologist, I have the skills and experience to educate local communities on self-managed abortions, using evidence-based and accessible methods.I have hosted lemonade stands with SYA around the state of Indiana where I provide information and resources on safe and legal ways to end a pregnancy at home. I have also partnered with Women Helping Women, a nonprofit organization that trains and supports community-based abortion educators, to host virtual seminars on self-managed abortions. Through these activities, I have reached hundreds of people and increased their awareness and confidence on this topic. I am also a graduate of the SuperMajority Leaders Program 2022, a leadership development program for women who want to create social change. Additionally, I am a member of MomsRising Beacons of Hope, a network of mothers who advocate for justice and equity for all families. I also hold a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a previous career as a Medical Technologist.
